Saturday 5 of January 3-7 PM, 2013, Parque Huiracocha, Lima, Peru.
After about 6 years of working with patterns and 2 years experimenting
with "free textures" on clothes, I did my first workshop wich also was
my debut as a teacher. It was a 4 hour Master class for other artists and
teachers and so on, it was also open for everybody else to participate.
I talked abit about who I am and about my work and then we started to
work directly. It went really really good. And I imeaditly understod
that this was the beginning of something that was going to be
so much bigger. Even before I started the workshop people were asking me
when the next one was. To celebrate the first workshop I gave away 4 of the
t-shirts I painted, one wich I did with unpopped popcorn and orange, blue
and yellow spraypaint. I drew 4-5 big stripes on white cotton textile.
The second: Strong black coffe in a recycled half litre plastic bottle with a
spray cap. As a texture I did stripes with masking tape. The third one I painted
with wine, and used popcorns as stencils. I gave it away to a kid. And the fourth
one I did a pattern I call "walking" or "camamino revolucionario" *revolucionary walk,
with spikes and plack paint, and gave it to an older man,
he was so happy. The audience were aplouding.
"...que creativo! Locazo! chevere" divertido!" wow!!"
